恃怙（上時止反考聲云恃依也集訓云恃負也乘負倚憑也說文云恃賴也從心寺聲也下胡古反說文怙恃也從忄音心從祜胡古反省聲）。

恃怙 (relying on and depending upon: the first character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 時止. The Kaosheng says: 'Shì (恃) means to rely on.' The Jixun says: 'Shì means to lean upon; to ride upon, rely on, and depend upon.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Shì means to depend on; it derives from 心 with 寺 as phonetic.' The second character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 胡古. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Hù (怙) means to rely on; it derives from 忄 [心] with 祜 [胡古] abbreviated as phonetic.')
