撟誑(薑夭反賈注國語云非先王之法曰撟集訓云撟詐也說文撟擅也考聲云妄也顧野玉云假稱謂之撟從手喬聲經文從矢作矯俗用非本字也)。

撟誑 ("to feign and deceive": [fanqie] 薑夭 [jiǎo]. Jia's commentary to the Guoyu says: "What goes against the laws of the ancient kings is called jiǎo." Jixun says: "Jiǎo means deceitful." Shuowen says: "Jiǎo means taking arbitrary power." Kaosheng says: "Deceptive." Gu Yewang says: "To make false pretenses is called jiǎo." It is composed of 手 with 喬 as the phonetic. In the scripture text it is written with 矢 as 矯, which is a vulgar usage and not the original character.)
