撫拍（上敷武反下普百反並俗字也正體從付作拊從手白聲考聲云安慰也撫亦拍也愛憐也）。

撫拍 (The upper character is [pronounced with the] fanqie 敷武 [fǔ]; the lower is [pronounced with the] fanqie 普百 [pò]. Both are popular forms. The standard form of the upper is derived from 付, written 拊; the lower is derived from hand with bai phonetic. The Kaosheng says: "To comfort; fu also means to pat; to cherish").
