㒓額（上坦怛反下崖格反考聲云𨔬佅𨔬也文字典說從人𨔬聲韻英云頟顙也正從各作頟說文從頁從格省經從客俗字已傳用久矣江東人呼頟為訝幽州人謂頟為鄂皆聲訛轉也）。

Low forehead [㒓額] (The first character has the fanqie tan + da. The second character has the fanqie ya + ge. The Kaosheng says: "Tuotuo means foolish and bewildered." The Wenzi dianshuo says: "Classified under radical 'person' with tuo [𨔬] phonetic." The Yunying says: "E means the forehead." Correctly written with ge [各] as e [頟]. The Shuowen says: "Classified under radical 'head' [頁] with an abbreviated ge [格]." The sūtra uses the character with ke [客], an unofficial form long in circulation. People of Jiangdong pronounce e as ya, while people of Youzhou pronounce e as o; both are phonetic corruptions.)
