Walking on crutches [枴行] (The fanqie guai + mai; a rising-tone informal character. The staff with a handle held by the elderly is called a crutch [guai-zi]. Those suffering from foot ailments who cannot walk lean on two crutches under the armpits to walk, which is called 'walking on crutches'. None of the traditional lexicons contain this character; the Shuowen, Yupian, and Gujin zhengzi all write it as [𰰜], pictographic, as do other lexicons. It also has the sound guai, which is not adopted here. Classified under radical 'wood' with 'ling' [另] phonetic. Ling has the fanqie kua + gua.)
