赤穟（隨類反毛詩傳云穟秀也蒼頡篇云禾麥秀也說文禾[釆-木+未]之貌也從禾遂聲亦作[釆-木+未]或作穗）。

Red ears of grain (the fanqie is 隨 + 類. The *Mao Commentary* to the *Classic of Poetry* says: "*Sui* means flowering into ear." The *Cangjiepian* says: "The flowering ears of grain and wheat." The *Shuowen* says: "The appearance of ears of grain." It is composed of 禾 [grain] with 遂 as phonetic. It is also written as [釆-木+未], or written as 穗).
