讇言（上丑𮉼反亦作諂何休注公羊傳云諂猶侫也莊子云晞意道言謂之諂也說文從言閻聲）。

讇言 'flattering words' (the first character is fanqie 丑𮉼; also written as 諂; He Xiu's commentary on the Gongyang zhuan says: '諂 means obsequious'; the Zhuangzi says: 'To speak according to others' desires is called flattery'; the Shuowen jiezi says: 'it is formed from the speech [radical] with 閻 phonetic').
