棧之（上查諫反考聲云棧閣道也廣雅棧閣也漢書燒其棧道是也說文云棧棚也從木戔聲棚音白萠反）。

Plank-roadway of it (棧之): the first character is pronounced with the fanqie zha-jian (zhan). The Kaosheng states: "A zhan is a plank gallery road." The Guangya states: "A zhan is a raised wooden corridor." The phrase in the Hanshu, "burned down their plank gallery road," is an instance of this. The Shuowen states: "A zhan is a wooden scaffold or store-frame; it takes 'wood' (木) as semantic classifier and has zhan (戔) as phonetic component." The character peng (棚) is pronounced with the fanqie bai-meng (peng).
