拂帚（上芬勿反詩云拂去也又云治也廣雅云除也鄭注儀禮云拭也又注禮記云除塵也說文云拂擊也從手弗聲下周守反前有部律第二十三卷中已釋）。

拂帚 'broom for sweeping' (the first character is fanqie 芬勿; the Shijing says: '拂 means to remove'; it also says: 'to regulate'; the Guangya says: 'to eliminate'; Zheng [Xuan's] commentary on the Yili says: 'to wipe clean'; his commentary on the Liji also says: 'to remove dust'; the Shuowen jiezi says: '拂 means to strike; it is formed from the hand [radical] with 弗 phonetic'; the second character is fanqie 周守; it was already explained in Fascicle 23 of the Sarvāstivāda Vinaya above).
