On the fence (籬: also written in the two forms 攡 and 拖, identical; fanqie li + zhi. The Tongsu wen says: 'A brushwood fence is called li 籬.' The Shiming says: 'Made of brushwood, it is sparse and loosely spaced (li-li-ran).').
