Yoke of ignorance (無明軶: the last is pronounced [鸎 + 格] *è*. The Kaogongji says: 'The cartwright makes the yoke of a cart six feet long.' It also says: 'The yoke is the timber on the tip of the cart-pole that presses down upon the ox's neck.' The Kaosheng says: 'It is the crossbar of a modern cart.' The Shuowen says: 'The front of the cart-pole. It takes the radical chē and the phonetic è.' È is pronounced è; [木*(鬲-┬+干)] is pronounced gé. In the treatise text it is written as 軛, which is a vulgar form).
