Embroidered damask (繡綾: the first is pronounced [修 + 宥] *xiù*. The Kaogongji says: 'In the craft of painting and embroidery, having all five colors complete is called xiù.' The Shuowen says: 'Variegated colors. It takes the radical mì and the phonetic xiù.' The second is pronounced [力 + 㚈] *líng*. The Picang says: '綾 resembles patterned silk but is finer.' The Shuowen says: 'In eastern Qi, fine woven silk is called líng. It takes the radical mì and the phonetic líng'; líng has the same sound as above).
