恃懱（下眠鼈反杜注左氏傳云懱無也賈注國語云來也方言云小也古今正字云懱輕偈也從心蔑聲蔑音同上論文單作蔑用別非此義也）。

Relying upon and despising (恃懱: the second is pronounced [眠 + 鼈] *miè*. Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: '懱 means nothing.' Jia's commentary on the Guoyu says: 'To belittle.' The Fangyan says: 'Small.' The Gujin zhengzi says: '懱 means slighting and haughty. It takes the radical xīn and the phonetic miè'; miè has the same sound as above. In the treatise text it is simply written as 蔑, which has a different usage and is not this meaning).
