淳質（上順倫反亦作[月*(高/羊)]惇論作淳俗用字也案[泳-永+(高/羊)]質之字正從酉作𨣶漢書云一色成體謂之𨣶言不雜也孔注尚書云粹也又云為𨣶一之行也賈逵云專也廣雅厚也說文從酉𦎫聲𦎫音同上亦作純）。

Pure and plain (淳質; the upper character [淳] is fanqie 順倫; it is also written [月*(高/羊)] or 惇. In treatises it is written 淳, which is a popular variant. On examination, the character for 'pure and plain' properly takes 'wine' (酉) as 𨣶. The Hanshu says: 'Forming a single substance of a single colour is called 𨣶, meaning unmixed.' Kong's commentary on the Shangshu says: 'Pure.' It also says: 'Engaging in unified conduct.' Jia Kui says: 'Exclusive.' The Guangya says: 'Substantial.' The Shuowen says it is composed with 酉 as semantic and 𦎫 as phonetic. The sound of 𦎫 is the same as above. It is also written 純).
