撾打（上竹瓜反考聲云撾擊也馬策也聲類云撾捶也魏志云撾折其脚也文字典說云打也從木過聲也）。
Beating and striking (撾打; the upper character [撾] is fanqie 竹瓜. The Kaosheng says: '撾 means to strike; a horsewhip.' The Shenglei says: '撾 means to beat.' The Sanguozhi (Wei annals) says: 'He beat and broke his legs.' The Wenzidian shuo says: 'To strike.' It is composed with 'wood' (木) as semantic and 過 as phonetic).
