孿子併(所患反廣疋孿兩也通俗文連子曰孿字林雙生也蒼頡篇一生雨子也併音蒲茗反尒疋併並也亦俱也言若二身根即二人連併此不可也)。
Twins conjoined (孿子併: [孿 is] *suo* and *huan* *fanqie* [= *luan*]; the *Guangya* says: "*Luan* means two." The *Tongsu wen* says: "Connected children are called *luan*." The *Zilin* says: "Twins." The *Cang Jie pian* says: "One birth of two children." 併 is pronounced *pu* and *ming* *fanqie* [= *bing*]; the *Erya* says: "*Bing* means beside; it also means together." This means that if there were two body faculties, then two persons would be connected and conjoined, which is impossible).
