Making sandals (作屣: the ancient script has the two forms 𩌦 and 𩎉, the same; *suo* and *qi* or *suo* and *jie*, two *fanqie* [= *xi*]; the *Shuowen* says: "*Xi* is of the category of *di*; *di* are leather shoes;" *di* is pronounced *du* and *xi* *fanqie* [= *di*]).
