Alert and awakened (警覺: the first character has the fanqie 京影; Kong's Commentary on the Book of Documents states: 'To warn and caution.' The Boya states: 'It means the spirit being startled and uneasy.' The Wenzidian shuo states: 'It is formed from [the semantic component] "speech" (言) and has 敬 as phonetic; it is also written as 取 [for semantic/phonetic variation]').
