樞扇（上觸朱反郭注爾雅云門戶扇肘也又注云門持樞者以為固也韓康伯注周易云樞機制動之主也說文從木區聲下正體扇字音羶戰反）。

Pivot and door leaf (樞扇: the first character is pronounced chu-zhu [shū]; Guo's commentary on the Erya says: 'The elbow of a door leaf.' Another commentary says: 'That which holds the pivot in a door, securing it firmly.' Han Kangbo's commentary on the Book of Changes says: 'The pivot is the crucial mechanism and the master that initiates movement.' The Shuowen jiezi states: 'It is formed with [the semantic classifier] mù (wood) and has qū as its phonetic component.' The second is the standard form of the character 扇, pronounced shan-zhan [shàn]).
