荏苒（上而枕反下而琰反孫𭰫唐韻云荏苒猶展轉也古今正字並從草任冉皆聲也）。

Gradual passing (荏苒: the first character has the fanqie 而枕; the second character has the fanqie 而琰. Sun Mian's Tangyun says: '荏苒 means passing gradually or shifting.' The Gujin zhengzi states that both are formed from the semantic component "grass" (草), with 任 and 冉 acting as phonetics).
