Coughing up breath (欬氣; [the first character is] 開 + 愛. The *Shuowen jiezi* states: "欬 means adverse rising of breath. Composed of 'yawn' (欠) and 亥 as the phonetic." In the treatise it is written with 'mouth' as 咳, which is an error).
