Entangled (縈纏: the upper character [縈] is pronounced yi-ying fan; the Mao Commentary on the Shijing says: "縈 means to wind around." The Shuowen says: "To coil and wind; it takes 糸 as semantic and the abbreviated 熒 as phonetic." The lower character [纏] is pronounced che-lian fan; the Shuowen says: "纏 means to bind; it takes 糸 as semantic and 廛 as phonetic").
