攀攬（上盼蠻反王逸注楚辭云攀引也廣雅戀也說文作艸云引也從反艸今作攀從手樊聲下藍膽反廣雅云攬取也說文撮持也從手覽聲亦作擥）。

攀攬 (the first character is *pan* combined with *man* [fanqie: pan-man]; Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: “攀 means to pull towards oneself.” The Guangya says: “To cling to.” The Shuowen writes it with grass radicals as 艸, saying: “To pull; formed with inverted 艸.” Today it is written as 攀, formed with 手 with 樊 as its phonetic component. The second character is *lan* combined with *dan* [fanqie: lan-dan]; the Guangya says: “攬 means to seize.” The Shuowen says: “To grasp in handfuls; formed with 手, with 覽 as its phonetic component; also written as 擥”).
