揩拭（上客皆反下十軄反揩摩也鄭注禮記云拭猶淨也說文並從手皆式聲也）。

Wipe and rub (揩拭: the first character *fanqie* 客 + 皆; the second character *fanqie* 十 + 軄. 揩 means to rub. Zheng Xuan’s commentary to the *Liji* says: “拭 means to clean.” *Shuowen jiezi* says: “Both are composed of 手 [‘hand’] with 皆 and 式 as phonetics”).
