靈龕（苦甘反孝聲鑿山壁為坎也廣雅龕盛也文字典說著佛像處也從龍今聲俗從合作龕非也）。

Niche for spirits (靈龕: [龕 is pronounced] ku-gan fan; the Kaosheng says: "Chiseling the rock-face of a mountain to make a pit." The Guangya says: "龕 means to contain." The Wenzidian shuo says: "A place where Buddha images are placed; [the character] takes 龍 ('dragon') as semantic and 今 as phonetic." The popular form written with 合 as 龕 is incorrect).
