懷孕（上橫乖反孔注論語云懷安也又云懷歸也鄭注周禮云懷來也古文正體從女作㜳㜳妊字也下以證反鄭玄禮記云妊音壬妊子曰孕廣雅孕懷㑗音身也說文云懷子也從乃子聲也㑗音身）。

Pregnant (huaiyun 懷孕: the upper word is [pronounced with the fanqie] heng + guai [huai]. Kong's commentary on the Lunyu says: 'Huai 懷 means at peace; it also says: huai means to return.' Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli says: 'Huai means to come.' In ancient script the standard character is categorized under woman 女 as 㜳, 㜳 being the character for gestation (ren 妊). The lower word is [pronounced with the fanqie] yi + zheng [yun]. Zheng Xuan on the Liji says: 'Ren 妊 (pronounced ren 壬); being pregnant with a child is called yun 孕.' The Guangya says: 'Yun means carrying within the body' (pronounced shen 身). The Shuowen says: 'Carrying a child; it is categorized under nai 乃 and takes child 子 as phonetic.' The character [㑗] is pronounced shen 身.).
