柔耎（而剸反鄭眾注周禮云耎厚脂韋皮也說文云前稍韋也耎弱也從大而聲也或作偄亦通也）。

Supple and soft (rouruan 柔耎: [the lower word is pronounced with the fanqie] er + zhuan [ruan]. Zheng Zhong's commentary on the Zhouli says: 'Ruan 耎 is soft leather with thick fat.' The Shuowen says: 'Finely tanned soft leather; ruan means weak; it is categorized under da 大 and takes er 而 as phonetic.' It is also written 偄, which is interchangeable.).
