疲極（上音皮賈逵注國語云勞也病也廣雅疲倦也下其嶷反考聲云極窮也竟也從木亟聲也亟音居力反）。

Exhausted and weary (疲極): The upper character is pronounced pí. Jia Kui's commentary on the Guoyu says: ‘It means toil; illness.’ The Guangya says: ‘Pí means weary.’ The lower character has the fanqie qi + yi (jí). The Kaosheng says: ‘Jí means exhausted; finished; it takes “wood” (木) with jí (亟) as phonetic.’ 亟 has the fanqie ju + li (jí).
