稱量（上赤蒸反韻英云稱程也考聲云定其輕重也平也廣雅稱度也說文稱詮也從禾爯聲也爯同上也下力薑反考聲云量度也稱也從曰童聲古文作𱔱經文作量略也）。

Weigh and measure (稱量): The upper character has the fanqie chi + zheng (chēng). The Yunying says: ‘Chēng means to measure.’ The Kaosheng says: ‘To determine light and heavy; to balance.’ The Guangya says: ‘Chēng means to measure.’ The Shuowen says: ‘Chēng means to evaluate; it takes “grain” (禾) with chēng (爯) as phonetic.’ 爯 is the same as above. The lower character has the fanqie li + jiang (liáng). The Kaosheng says: ‘Liáng means to measure; to weigh; it takes “sun” (曰) with tóng (童) as phonetic.’ In ancient script it is written as 𱔱. The sūtra text writing it as 量 is an abbreviated form.
