竭誠（渠徹反集訓云竭水盡也爾雅竭盡也孔安國注論語云盡忠節不愛其身也說文從立曷聲也下音誠爾雅誠信也博雅誠敬也案誠猶實也）。

Utmost sincerity (竭誠; first character qu + che fanqie; the Jixun says: "Jie (竭) means drying up of water." The Erya says: "Jie means to exhaust." Kong Anguo's commentary on the Lunyu says: "Exhausting one's loyalty and devotion without sparing one's body." The Shuowen says it takes the stand radical (立) with he (曷) phonetic. Second character pronounced cheng; the Erya says: "Cheng (誠) means trustworthy." The Boya says: "Cheng means reverent." Note: Cheng is like 'true'.).
