琰摩（以𮉼反或作閻摩羅或言閻羅亦作閻摩羅社又言夜磨盧迦皆是梵音楚夏聲訛轉也此譯云縛或言雙世竊謂苦樂並受故以名焉又云縛閻摩此云雙羅社此言王兄及妹皆作地獄王兄治男事妹治女事故曰雙王也）。

琰摩 Yama (yǐ + [qiǎn] fanqie; also written 閻摩羅, or 閻羅, or 閻摩羅社, or 夜磨盧迦; these are all Sanskrit terms corrupted in transfer between north and south. Here translated as "bound", or as "twin". The world privately considers that pain and pleasure are experienced together, hence it is so named. It also translates as "twin bind"; 琰摩 means twin, and 羅社 means king. The brother and sister both serve as kings of the hells: the brother handles affairs concerning men, and the sister handles affairs concerning women; thus they are called the twin kings).
