Feiliuli [Vaiḍūrya] (fu-fei fan. Formerly called Peizhouliye, or Peitouli; also written Piliuli or Peiliuli; these are all phonological shifts of the Sanskrit pronunciation. It takes its name from a mountain: Peitouli Mountain produces this jewel, meaning the jewel of the distant mountain. The distant mountain is Mount Sumeru. This jewel is cyan in colour; no jewel can destroy it, nor can smoke and flames melt or cast it. Only spirits with supernatural powers can break it to make objects. Alternatively, it is said to be the eggshell of the garuḍa bird, which is this jewel; spirits break it to sell to pawnbrokers and people).
