禦捍（古文敔同魚舉反小爾疋禦抗也禦當也爾疋禦禁也謂未有而預備之也字從示下又作扞同胡且反說文捍止也[藪-婁+(止/回)]也亦衛也）。

Yuhan [to resist and ward off] (Ancient script written as 敔, the same; yu-ju fan. The Xiao Erya says: yu means to resist; yu means to withstand. The Erya says: yu means to forbid, meaning to prepare beforehand against what has not yet occurred. The character is written with 示 below. Han is also written as 扞, hu-qie fan. The Shuowen says: han means to stop, to ward off; it also means to defend).
