諂佞（丑𮉼反下奴定反希其意道其言謂之諂說文巧諂高材曰佞又為善曰佞也）。

Flattery and sycophancy (諂佞: upper character fanqie 丑𮉼 [chǒu + chàn = chǎn]; lower character fanqie 奴定 [nú + dìng = nìng]; pandering to another's will and echoing their words is called flattery [諂]; the Shuowen says: 'Cunning flattery with high talent is called sycophancy [佞]; furthermore, acting virtuously is also called 佞').
