幖幟（俾遙反下昌志反通俗文微号曰幖私記曰幟字皆從巾或從木作標謂以木為識標而記之此亦兩通）。

幖幟 [banners and flags] (the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 俾遙 [b- + -ao = biao]; the lower character with 昌志 [ch- + -i = zhi]: The Tongsu wen states: “A slight insignia is called biao (幖); an unofficial marker is called zhi (幟).” The characters both take the巾 [cloth] radical; alternatively, they take the 木 [wood] radical to form 標, meaning using wood as an insignia, marking and registering it; both usages are acceptable).
