不耐（乃代反左傳云而不相耐顧野王云耐猶能也考聲云忍也文字典說謂法度皆從寸寸度不過其法也從而從寸）。

Incapable 不耐 (The second character has the fanqie 乃代 [nài]. The Zuozhuan says: 'And they were incapable of tolerating each other.' Gu Yewang says: 'Nai is like neng, "capable".' The Kaosheng says: 'To endure.' The Wenzidian shuo states: 'Measures and laws all follow the cun; measuring by the inch (cun) does not exceed its standard.' It is composed of ér (而) and cùn (寸).)
