"Stung by (所螫)" (shu and yi in fanqie [shì]; the Shuowen says: "An insect dispensing poison." In the region west of the Pass, this pronunciation is used; it is also pronounced hu and ge in fanqie [hè], which is used east of the mountains; zhi and lie in fanqie [zhē] is common speech throughout east and west).
