"Shin bone (脛骨)" (also written as 踁, identical; xia and ding in fanqie [jìng]; the Shuowen says: "Jìng is the calf of the leg [héng]"; héng is xia and meng in fanqie; today in Jiangnan they call the shin héng; east of the mountains they call it héngzhàng; the character zhàng is zhang and meng in fanqie. Jìng and héng are both names for the two bones below the knee. The Shiming says: "Jìng means stem [jiāng], being straight and reaching down like the stem of a plant").
