吞嚼（牆略反淮南子云嚼之無味不能入喉也廣雅云嚼茹也文字典說云嚼亦咀也從口爵聲咀牆預反）。

Swallow and chew (吞嚼; pronounced with the fanqie 牆略 [jiáo]. The Huainanzi states: 'Chewing it has no flavour; it cannot go down the throat.' The Guangya states: '嚼 (jiáo) means to eat.' The Wenzi dianshuo states: '嚼 also means to masticate (咀). It takes "mouth" [口] as radical and 爵 as phonetic; 咀 is pronounced with the fanqie 牆預 [jù]').
