隁江（上焉幰反顧野王云隁所以畜水也考聲云隁塞也古今正字從𨸏匽聲匽音上同論文作堰俗字通用）。

Dammed river (隁江; the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 焉幰 [yǎn]. Gu Yewang states: 'An 隁 (yǎn) is that with which water is stored.' The Kaosheng states: '隁 means to obstruct.' The Gujin zhengzi states that it takes 𨸏 as radical and 匽 as phonetic; 匽 has the same pronunciation as above. In the treatise text, writing it as 堰 is a commonly used vulgar character).
