派演（上拍賣反廣疋云派水自分流也說文云派水之邪流別也從反水隷書作𠂢論文從水亦同下延典反賈注國語云演引也韋昭云水土氣通為演也蒼頡篇云演延也說文云演長流皃也從水寅聲也）。

派演 (the first character is pronounced [fanqie: 拍 + 賣]; the Guangya says: "派 means water branching out on its own into streams." Shuowen jiezi says: "派 means a divergent stream of water branching off; composed of reversed 水 [water]." In clerical script it is written 𠂢; in the treatise it is written with 水, which is also the same. The second character is pronounced [fanqie: 延 + 典]; Jia Kui's commentary on the Guoyu says: "演 means to extend." Wei Zhao says: "Water and earth vapors permeating is 演." The Cangjie pian says: "演 means to lengthen." Shuowen jiezi says: "演 means the appearance of a long-flowing stream; composed of 水 [water] with 寅 as the phonetic").
