咀嚼（上才與反上林賦云咀嚼䔖藕也蒼頡篇云咀猶噍也說文云咀含味也從口且聲或作齟下牆略反前第五卷已與訓釋也）。

Chewing and masticating (咀嚼: the first character [咀] is fanqie 才與 [jǔ]. The Shanglin fu says: "Chewing water caltrops and lotus roots." The Cangjiepian says: "咀 is like chewing." The Shuowen says: "咀 means savouring in the mouth." It is formed with the mouth radical [口] and 且 as phonetic, and is sometimes written as 齟. The second character [嚼] is fanqie 牆略 [jué], which was already glossed above in Fascicle 5).
