舂䑗(尺容反下徒朗反世本雍文作舂杵黃帝臣也廣雅䑗舂也韻集云䑔䑗米也今中國言䑔江南言䑗論文作蕩非體也䑔音伐小舂)。

Pounding and hulling (舂䑗: [舂 is fanqie] 尺容 [chǐróng]; the second character [䑗 is fanqie] 徒朗 [túlǎng]. The Shiben says: 'Yongwen invented the mortar and pestle'; he was a minister of the Yellow Emperor. The Guangya says: 'Tǎng means to pound.' The Yunji says: 'Fá and tǎng mean to hull rice.' Currently in the Central Plains it is called fá, while in Jiangnan it is called tǎng. The treatise text writes 蕩, which is nonstandard orthography. 䑔 is pronounced 伐 [fá], meaning light pounding.)
