𥹁哉(字宜作𦥬二形同子各反說文糲一斛舂取九升曰糳三蒼注云糳精米也今江南亦謂䑔米為糳糲音剌論文作𥹁非體)。

Zuozai 𥹁哉 (how finely polished!: the character should properly be 𦥬, both forms having the fanqie zi + ge [zuò]. The Shuowen says: "When pounding one hu of unhusked grain to yield nine sheng [of clean grain], it is called zuo 糳." The commentary on the San Cang says: "Zuo 糳 is finely polished rice." Nowadays, in Jiangnan, pounded fine rice is also called zuo; unhusked coarse rice [li 糲] is pronounced la. The treatise text writes 𥹁, which is not the standard form).
