挻埴（式延反下時力反字林挻柔也今言柔埏也亦擊也和也埴土也黏土曰埴釋名云土黃而細密曰埴膩也如脂之膩也）。

挻埴 (pronounced with the fanqie 式延 [shān]; the second character is pronounced with the fanqie 時力 [zhí]. The Zilin says: "挻 means to soften." Nowadays people say "to soften and knead" (柔埏); it also means to beat and to blend. 埴 means clay; sticky earth is called zhí. The Shiming says: "Earth that is yellow, fine, and compact is called zhí; it is greasy, being as greasy as fat.")
