烏鱡 (the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 於胡 [wū]; the second character is also written in the two forms 鰂 and 鯽, both pronounced with the fanqie 才勒 [zé]. The Picang says: "The wūzé fish has a bone inside its belly; it comes from Nanhai Commandery. On its back is a single bone two inches wide, with very long fins. It has ink in its mouth, and when angered it squirts it at people." The Linhai ji says: "Because it holds a tablet and contains ink, it is therefore styled the 'minor clerk fish'.")
