頷車(又作𩔞同胡感反頤下也釋名頷含也口含物之車也或曰輔車其骨強所以輔持口也或曰牙車牙所載也或言頰車亦所載頰也凡繫於車者皆取在下載上物也俗名䫦車音公盍反吳會曰頷𩑶𩑶苦姑反論文或作𩒷也)。

Lower jaw (頷車: also written 𩔞, the same; pronounced [hu + gan >] *hàn*. Below the chin. The Shiming states: "頷 means to hold (含); it is the carriage (車) where the mouth holds things." Some say it is the fǔchē (輔車); its bone is strong, serving to support and hold the mouth. Some say it is the yáchē (牙車), upon which the teeth are carried. Some say it is the jiáchē (頰車), carrying the cheeks. Everything associated with 'carriage' (車) takes the sense of being underneath to carry what is above. In popular usage it is called *géchē* (䫦車), pronounced [gong + he >] *hé*. In the Wu and Kuaiji regions it is called *hànkū* (頷𩑶); 𩑶 is pronounced [ku + gu >] *kū*. In the treatise text it is sometimes written as 𩒷).
