Splashing and splattering (澆灒: also written in the two forms 𠵖 and 濺, the same; pronounced [zi + qie >] *jiàn*. The Shuowen jiezi states: "Splashing and sprinkling with water." In the Shiji, the passage 'within five paces, with the blood from my neck splashing the Great King's robes' writes the character as 濺).
