脚躡（下黏輒反廣雅云履躡也謂機下足所履之躡也蒼頡篇躡蹀也說文躡蹈也從足聶聲也）。

Tread with foot [脚躡] (the second character is pronounced *nian* + *zhe* [niè]. The *Guangya* states: 'Lü means nie [to tread],' meaning the treadle beneath a loom on which the foot steps. The *Cangjiepian* states: 'Nie means die [to step/walk].' The *Shuowen* states: 'Nie means dao [to tread]; it takes "foot" [足] as semantic classifier and has *nie* [聶] as phonetic component').
