鎚鍛（直追反下音端亂反孔注尚書云鍛捶也說文從金段聲也）。
鎚鍛 [chuíduàn, forging and hammering]: [the first character is pronounced] 直 + 追 fanqie. The second character is pronounced 端 + 亂 fanqie. Kong's commentary on the Book of Documents says: '鍛 means to strike.' The Shuowen states that it takes the metal radical (金) with duàn (段) providing the sound.
